Myles Murphy Could Be Situational Pass-Rusher
1 year agoCincinnati Bengals rookie defensive end Myles Murphy, who was taken with the 28th overall pick in this year's NFL draft, has looked as explosive as advertised in the team's positional drills this offseason. His repetitions were predominantly with the backups, and Cincinnati wants Murphy to be on the field in key pass-rushing situations as they try to increase their pressure rate. "Lot of my friends that played with him say he's a good guy," wide receiver Tee Higgins said. "Hopefully he can come in and make an impact early." At 6-foot-5, 268 pounds, the 21-year-old is on the big side for an edge rusher, but his combination of size and speed is what makes him special. Murphy could eventually become a three-down player for the Bengals, but it probably won't happen right away.
