Christian Walker Doubles Twice, Continues Torrid Stretch
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker stayed hot on Saturday night, extending his hitting streak to nine games with a 3-for-5 effort, including two doubles, one that cleared the bases for three RBI. The clean-up hitter has been on fire at the dish of late, evidenced by his .361/.419/.614 slash line in June while tacking on three home runs and two stolen bases. This is a complete 180 from May, in which he hit just .237 but made up for it by destroying eight homers. The large discrepancy in BABIP month-to-month suggests that Walker will fall somewhere in the .270-.280 range when the dust settles, but the batted ball data favors the eight-homer month more than the three. Regardless, fantasy managers can keep riding the 32-year-old confidently as he hits in the middle of a sneakily potent Diamondbacks offense. On the season, Walker is hitting .278 with 15 home runs, 42 runs, and 52 RBI as we approach 2023's halfway mark.
