Ryan Johansen Traded To Colorado
2 years agoThe Colorado Avalanche acquired center Ryan Johansen in a trade with the Nashville Predators on Saturday. As part of the deal, Nashville received depth forward Alex Galchenyuk and the Predators retain 50 percent of Johansen's contract. The 30-year-old has two seasons to go on a big $64 million pact that has an eight million cap hit. Johansen is coming off a down year which was cut short by a broken leg. He posted 28 points across 55 outings before getting injured in late February. Johansen's play has been inconsistent for a few years now, but he will be in a good bounce-back sport next season, with the Vancouver native projected to be the second-line center on a good Colorado team.

Flyers Immediately Place Ryan Johansen On Waivers
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Flyers have immediately placed center Ryan Johansen on waivers. The veteran was acquired as part of the trade that sent defenseman Sean Walker to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday but his inclusion was strictly financially related. He is owed $4 million in the final year of his deal next season as the Flyers took that salary off Colorado's books in order to secure a first-round pick in the swap. Johansen has struggled this season, his first in Colorado, with just 23 points in 63 games while averaging just 13:39 of ice time per game, his lowest figure since his 2011-12 rookie season. He will almost certainly clear waivers before potentially being sent to the minors.

Ryan Johansen Questionable Thursday
1 year agoColorado Avalanche center Ryan Johansen is feeling under the weather, and it's unclear if he can play on Thursday against Dallas. The illness kept Johansen off the ice on Wednesday, but he has traveled with the team to Texas. Johansen has been one of the Avalanche's biggest goal threats, with 11 markers tallied across 38 outings, but he's managed only 15 points in total during his first year in Denver. Ross Colton would be the likeliest replacement for Johansen on the second line if he's out on Thursday.

Ryan Johansen Done For The Regular Season
2 years agoNashville Predators center Ryan Johansen has been ruled out for 12 weeks following leg surgery, which means that the 2022-23 regular season is over for him. He was injured Tuesday in a game against Vancouver in very unfortunate circumstances when the back of Johansen's right leg was cut by Quinn Hughes' skate blade. Johansen finishes his 12th campaign in the league with 12 goals and 16 assists in 55 games. Juuso Parssinen might now move back to center with Johansen out, although head coach John Hynes also has other options available to him.
