Josh Donaldson Sitting On Friday
1 year agoNew York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson is out of the starting lineup on Friday as the team faces the visiting Texas Rangers. Donaldson has gone hitless in 13 at-bats in his last four games, so it's a good time for him to take a break and start on the bench. The recent hitless stretch has dropped his extremely poor season slash line to just .127/.200/.413. Donaldson has played in only 20 games so far this year due to injuries, but he does have six home runs in a small sample size. If the 37-year-old can't pick things up soon, though, he'll probably find himself on the bench more often than not. DJ LeMahieu is starting at the hot corner on Friday and is hitting fifth against Rangers right-hander Dane Dunning.
