Saquon Barkley Should "At Least" Be Back With Giants This Year
1 year agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has been vocally unhappy about the team's decision to use the franchise tag on him rather than offer him a long-term contract. However, the two sides have re-opened contract talks, according to NFL.com and Ian Rapaport. "(Barkley) said he's not going to make a definitive declaration of what he is going to do in the 2023 season until we get into that deadline and to be sure there is still room here for a deal," said Rapaport. "Talks are back on between the Giants and Barkley. At the very least, Barkley is expected to be back with the Giants on a one-year fully guaranteed tag. It's just a matter of whether he's going to get the security that he wants. Time will tell on that one." While this situation still has time to change, it seems the chance of a Barkley holdout is becoming less likely. He'll continue to have a high-end RB1 fantasy football outlook if he plays a full slate of games in 2023.
