Wil Myers Activated From Injured List, Designated For Assignment
1 year agoThe Cincinnati Reds reinstated outfielder Wil Myers (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and then designated him for assignment. It's been a tough season for the rapidly declining Myers, as he dealt with kidney stones before also landing on the injured list with a left-shoulder sprain. In 37 games in his first year in Cincinnati, Myers has hit a lowly .189/.257/.283 with three doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in 141 plate appearances. The 32-year-old has fallen far since making his only All-Star appearance in 2016 with the San Diego Padres. If Myers clears waivers, he could be sent to Triple-A Louisville to work on his approach at the plate. Myers should be on the waiver wire at this point in most fantasy leagues.
