Robert Gasser Pitching Well At Triple-A
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect Robert Gasser has been impressing at Triple-A Nashville of late, going 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA while walking four and striking out 27 in 26 innings over his last four starts on the farm. The recent good run of form has lowered Gasser's ERA on the year to 4.24, while he also has a 1.29 WHIP, 30 walks and 78 strikeouts in 68 innings over 13 appearances (12 starts). The team's No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, could be an option for Milwaukee's starting rotation in the second half of the season, but he'll need to do a better job of locating his pitches and throwing strikes. The 24-year-old southpaw doesn't have overpowering stuff, but he does a good job of mixing his offspeed pitches with his low-90s fastball.
