Derek Carr Praised By Head Coach
1 year agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr recently drew praise from head coach Dennis Allen. "Quarterback is the most important position on the field, and when you have a highly skilled player, a highly intelligent player, a guy that works the way Derek does, a guy that has the type of leadership qualities that Derek has, that's going to filter throughout the whole football team," said Allen. "I think that gives you a lot of confidence going into the season." Carr, who signed with New Orleans in March after the Raiders released him, finished 2022-23 by throwing for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 15 starts. He also made the Pro Bowl but completed only 60.8% of his attempts. He worked with Jon Gruden this offseason to improve, so hopefully, it will pay off. At any rate, Carr shouldn't be viewed as an elite fantasy signal-caller, although he could surpass his pre-draft expectations in 2023.
