1 year agoThe Baltimore Orioles recalled infield prospect Joey Ortiz from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday and optioned catcher Mark Kolozsvary to Norfolk after Tuesday's game in a corresponding move. Ortiz, the team's No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, was recently sent to the minors on May 26 after going 7-for-27 (.259) with a double, four RBI and four runs scored in his first 11 big-league contests. He's been mashing at Norfolk with a .328/.373/.570 slash line with 10 doubles, three triples, five homers and 20 RBI in 32 games, so the O's will give him another shot in the majors for the time being. The 24-year-old middle infielder will likely serve as depth for now and is more polished defensively, making him unattractive in mixed fantasy leagues for now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
