Will Taysom Hill Be Fantasy Relevant in 2023? Fantasy Football Outlook

Taysom Hill - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Taysom Hill had a solid fantasy football season as a gadget player with tight end eligibility in 2022. But will he continue to be fantasy relevant in 2023?

New Orleans Saints "tight end" Taysom Hill has been the most fascinating fantasy football asset over the last few seasons. He's started games at quarterback, rushed for touchdowns, and caught passes.

In 2022, he had tight end eligibility in fantasy football and ended up being one of the highest-scoring players at the position in standard leagues. He wasn't too shabby in PPR formats, either.

With Derek Carr set to run the New Orleans offense and a trio of Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and Kendre Miller operating in the backfield, can Hill stay relevant? Will He continue to see touches? Is he worth drafting in 2023? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Taysom Hill 2022 Season Review

In 16 games, Hill completed 13 of his 19 passing attempts for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 96 times for 575 yards and seven touchdowns while catching nine passes for 77 yards and two more scores. Once again, he was a unicorn who handled a ton of responsibilities, including blocking.

The BYU alum posted six top-five and 10 top-12 weekly finishes among tight ends in standard leagues. He also showed his massive ceiling in Week 5 when he delivered a monster performance with three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. Overall, he finished as the TE3 in standard leagues (only behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle) and the TE9 in PPR formats.

Is Hill Worth Drafting For Fantasy Football In 2023?

According to Nick Underhill of New Orleans.Football, Hill has continued to get reps with the quarterbacks during the Saints' OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Based on that information, there's a good chance that he'll be used in the gadget role once again in 2023. Since he scored 11 touchdowns last season, it's hard to blame the Saints' coaching staff for continuing to utilize him.

Hill's current standard league ADP sits at the TE34 spot, so he's well worth drafting as a backup in deeper leagues. He's a fantastic late-round option in Best Ball formats since fantasy managers won't have to guess when he'll be used in the red zone. Ultimately, Hill only needs a few spike weeks to pay off. Considering the scarcity of the TE position in standard formats, he could be a viable weekly starter over some mediocre tight ends.

Hill is super cheap to draft so he can be dropped without consequence if the Saints decide to cut him out of the offensive game plan. However, if your league designates Hill as a quarterback or running back rather than a tight end, he loses his value and is not worth rostering.
