1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates catcher prospect Henry Davis went 1-for-5 with a home run for Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday. The former first overall pick was promoted to Triple-A on June 6 and Tuesday's homer was his first for the club. The most interesting note was that Davis started in right field. Davis was drafted as a catcher and has played that exclusively throughout his young career, but with the Pirates also have another Top-100 prospect Endy Rodriguez behind the dish. Rodriguez has shown versatility by playing second base and outfield in addition to catcher, but it is interesting to see Davis getting reps in the outfield. The Pirates have been a surprise team in the early goings and Davis becoming more versatile could lead to a quicker promotion. Between Double-A and Triple-A, Davis has hit .276 with 11 homers, 30 RBI and eight stolen bases. For now, Davis and Rodriguez both make strong stashes in all formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
