1 year agoLook for Ross Chastain to be a factor at Gateway in this weekend's Enjoy Illinois 300. The driver of the #1 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing put up very respectable practice times on Saturday morning, including the 4th-fastest 10-lap average and the 2nd-fastest 15-lap average. This is noteworthy because Chastain rarely shows speed in practice, and when he does, it usually translates over to a great race. Last year at Gateway, Chastain had one of the best cars on the track but had run-ins with Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott that altered his day. He will start from 8th-place in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 and should be able to compete for a top 5 finish, if not a win.--Jordan McAbee
