1 year agoNew York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio extended his on-base streak to 19 games with a single on Monday for the Syracuse Mets. The 22-year-old has been on a tear in May, slashing .362/.404/.543 with 16 extra-base hits. However, Mauricio only has one home run in May, but he is making a ton of contact and limiting the strikeouts, displaying an 11:6 K: BB ratio. The shortstop prospect has shifted to second base in Triple-A and has proven to be a capable defender at the position. Mauricio could slot in at second base while Jeff McNeil plays the outfield.
