Ronny Mauricio Extends On-Base Streak
1 year agoNew York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio extended his on-base streak to 19 games with a single on Monday for the Syracuse Mets. The 22-year-old has been on a tear in May, slashing .362/.404/.543 with 16 extra-base hits. However, Mauricio only has one home run in May, but he is making a ton of contact and limiting the strikeouts, displaying an 11:6 K: BB ratio. The shortstop prospect has shifted to second base in Triple-A and has proven to be a capable defender at the position. Mauricio could slot in at second base while Jeff McNeil plays the outfield. Fantasy managers should stash Mauricio since his promotion could come any day now.
