Jordan Addison Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Addison is not participating at organized team activities this week, but head coach Kevin O'Connell said it is "nothing serious." Addison reportedly suffered a minor undisclosed injury at rookie minicamp. For now, there should be no panic or takeaway as the team is likely just being careful with its 2023 first-round pick. "It’s a day-to-day thing we are just working through," O'Connell said. "It’s better to be safe with things knowing that training camp isn’t that far away.”
That said, these "minor injuries" can develop into big things quickly, though, so stay tuned for further updates.
Jordan Addison 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson are going to see plenty of targets, there could be room in the Kirk Cousins-led offense for a third option to be on the fantasy radar. Last season, K.J. Osborn was the fantasy WR7 over the last five weeks of the season, catching 30 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns. Addison should slide right into that role and have a chance for boom weeks right away.
That said, it could take time for him to develop, so fantasy managers who drafted him should remain patient. He's playing alongside two of the best target earners at their respective positions, so there might be a feeling-out process before he truly flashes.
Hockenson and Addison could take turns eating into each other's production behind Jefferson, but Addison figures to be a great best ball asset and could have sneaky upside down the stretch in traditional leagues. A WR3 finish is in the range of outcomes.
