Marvin Jones Jr. 2023 Outlook: Potential No. 2 Passing Option Early In The Season
2 years agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. is set to enter his second stint with the team after two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he could be as high as the No. 2 passing option during the Lions' first six games. Sophomore wideout Jameson Williams will miss the first six weeks due to a suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy, so Jones will have to compete with Josh Reynolds, Tom Kennedy, Kalif Raymond, and Sam LaPorta to be the next guy in the target pecking order behind Amon-Ra St. Brown. The 33-year-old is past his prime, but that's far from stiff competition. Jones is regularly being drafted outside the top 200 picks in 2023 fantasy drafts. The Lions should continue to have one of the league's top offenses and if he even provides two or three weeks of decent production during that six-week stretch, he'll pay off at his cost.
