Ryan Helsley Blows Save In Shaky Appearance Sunday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Ryan Helsley took the blown save and the loss on Sunday in a 4-3 loss against the Cleveland Guardians. Helsley didn't have his command in this one, walking two and allowing a walk-off two-run double to Jose Ramirez. It was the flamethrowers fourth loss and fourth blown save of the season. Helsley had been good in May up until this one, going three-for-three in save chances and picking up three wins to only one loss. Still, he now holds a slightly disappointing 3.52 ERA and 1.26 WHIP on the season. He still should see the majority of save opportunities for St. Louis, so there is no need to panic yet.
