Giancarlo Stanton Could Begin Rehab Assignment Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) could begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday, and he isn't being ruled out yet for the series next weekend on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to manager Aaron Boone. Stanton has been out since mid-April with a hamstring strain, but he took on-field batting practice on Friday and is nearing his return. Barring a setback on his rehab assignment early next week, fantasy managers should have the 33-year-old slugger back by next weekend. Before his injury in April, Stanton had gone 14-for-52 (.269) with four home runs and 11 RBI in only 13 games played.
