Lakers Won't Pursue The Max For D'Angelo Russell
2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell is eligible to receive a two-year, $67.5 million extension by June 30. As reported by Dave McMenamin of ESPN, however, the Lakers will not be pursuing that max amount of money in his extension. In an act of desperation, the team tried to make a handful of moves at the deadline to turn the season around, and that included bringing Russell back to LA. While he had some solid games in the regular season and the early stages of the postseason, he completely vanished in the Western Conference Finals. It seems as though that made the difference in contract figures for the 27-year-old.
