Will Gordon A Solid Option In Texas
2 years agoJudging by his season stats, Will Gordon should be set up for a fantastic week in Texas. Gordon is inside the top-70 on tour in strokes gained off the tee as well as strokes gained on approach. Looking more at his work off the tee, Gordon is inside the top-100 in nearly every statistic tracked off the tee, highlighted by sitting third in club head speed and 12th in total driving. His fifth-place ranking in greens in regulation percentage document his success this season on approach as well. Gordon has made two of his last three cuts, and should add another to that streak this week in Texas.

Will Gordon Brings Poor Putting To TPC Deere Run
2 years agoWill Gordon has lost strokes putting in five straight events leading up to this week's John Deere Classic in Illinois. While the 26-year-old consistently gains strokes off the tee, and his iron game shows up in spurts, the lack of putting and around-the-green game has held him back on the PGA Tour. After losing his tour card after the 2021 season, Gordon shined on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022, earning his card back for this year. He has made plenty of cuts, and placed in the top-20 at both the RSM Classic and the RBC Canadian Open, so an uptick in putting over the course of the next two seasons is all it would take to see Gordon take a big next step. The North Carolina native is too volatile with the flat stick to be considered this week, but keep an eye on any positive putting trends in the future that might indicate a good time to hop in on Gordon.

Will Gordon Not An Option In Detroit
2 years agoThere has been more struggles than successes of late for Will Gordon, as he missed his second cut in the last three weeks in Connecticut last week. Although Gordon has made more cuts than he has missed this season, he only has one top-20 finish in the 2023 calendar year. Although Gordon certainly has the distance to attack Detroit Golf Club, the birdies haven't been falling at a high enough rate to consider Gordon this week. Of his last nine rounds on the PGA Tour, Gordon has only shot three of those rounds under 70. Four of the rounds in that same stretch were shot at 74 or over. Gordon is not a fantasy option this week in Detroit.

Will Gordon Continues To Fly Under The Radar
2 years agoWill Gordon returns to the course he recorded his best PGA Tour finish at in 2020 in TPC River Highlands and the Travelers Championship. Gordon comes off a solid top-20 finish in his last time out at the RBC Canadian Open, his fourth made cut in his last six starts. Gordon is in the top 50 on tour in two major stats this week, sitting ninth in greens-in-regulation percentage 150-175 yards out and 43rd in par-five, birdie-or-better percentage. For his second straight start, Gordon is a solid sleeper option with a very cheap DFS price.

Will Gordon A Solid Sleeper In Canada
2 years agoWill Gordon will make his 23rd start of the season this week in Canada in his first RBC Canadian Open. Gordon has been up-and-down this season but looks to be a solid sleeper this week. Gordon continues to be one of the best players on tour this season on approach, as he sits fifth in greens in regulation percentage. Other important stats this week include putting inside 10 feet, which Gordon sits 49th on tour in that stat, making 89% of his putts from that distance. Gordon is also 63rd on tour in hit fairway percentage, hitting just over 60% this season. With his cheaper DFS price, Gordon is certainly an option to consider this week.
