Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins showed flashes of upside in his second NFL season last year, but the Texans' offense didn't set him up for high-end success – and his season ended early due to a foot injury.
Houston added several pieces on offense this offseason via free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft, so Collins might be tricky to evaluate. First things first, we have his most recent injury update.
Is Collins healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Nico Collins Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Collins (foot) was seen practicing on Tuesday – the first day of organized team activities. Collins' 2022 season ended after he suffered a foot injury in Week 13, and the 24-year-old pass-catcher finished with 37 catches on 66 targets for 481 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games (seven starts).
He should be fully healthy for the start of the 2023 regular season, though, and he figures to be one of Houston's top options for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Nico Collins 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Collins is now one of the longest-tenured offensive players for Houston with Brandin Cooks gone, there will be plenty of competition for targets in 2023. The team added Robert Woods, Noah Brown, and Dalton Schultz in free agency and drafted wideouts Nathaniel 'Tank" Dell and Xavier Hutchinson in the 2023 NFL Draft. Additionally, John Metchie III will make his pro debut after missing his rookie season after an acute promyelocytic leukemia diagnosis.
Collins should continue to be a starter, but he might have a tough path to big-time volume and touchdown upside. Even with a rookie quarterback, Houston's offense could improve from last season. However, there's a low chance it's a top-20 unit in the NFL next season. With lots of options in the passing game for a low-ceiling offense, it's tough to get too excited about Collins' outlook.
It would be surprising if he becomes a weekly viable fantasy option, but at his WR65 ADP in Best Ball formats, it's not a bad idea to get a little exposure to him. If Houston's offense exceeds expectations, he'll likely outplay his current value.
