2 years agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Seth Lugo (calf) was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a left calf strain. He strained his calf while running to first base on a play that ended the second inning during his last start on Tuesday. The 33-year-old will miss the next few turns in the rotation. Lugo owned a (3-3) record with a 4.10 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 38:11 K: BB across 41 2/3 innings before landing on the injured list. Ryan Weathers was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move to replace Lugo on the big league roster. Weathers owns a 3.42 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 14:9 K: BB across 23 2/3 innings in the majors while tossing eight scoreless innings with an 8:7 K: BB in Triple-A.
