Matt Ryan Unlikely To Play Again
2 years agoFree-agent quarterback Matt Ryan, who announced he's joining the broadcast booth for the 2023 season, said it's unlikely that he'll play in the NFL again. "All the stars would have to [align]. I've just learned… in the 15 years I've played, to not shut any doors," Ryan said. The former MVP made it clear he wasn't retiring earlier this week, but the chances of him joining another NFL team at this point are slim to none. He earned four Pro Bowl selections in his 14 years with the Atlanta Falcons and led his team to one Super Bowl appearance. As a 38-year-old for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, Ryan had a career-low 14 touchdowns in 12 games and was eventually benched. If he were to officially retire, the Colts could come after some of the $12 million guaranteed they owe him after cutting him.
