Jared Shuster Recalled For Tuesday's Start
2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves will recall left-hander Jared Shuster for Tuesday's start against the Texas Rangers, according to Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The 24-year-old made two starts at the big league level earlier this season and posted an ugly 8.31 ERA and 2.42 WHIP with five strikeouts across 8.2 innings. Over five starts in Triple-A, he owns a much better 3.28 ERA, but that's paired with a 21.5% strikeout rate and 13.1% walk rate. The Braves rotation has seen Max Fried (forearm) and Kyle Wright (shoulder) go on the shelf for what should be a while, so this may be a chance for Shuster to claim a spot on the staff long-term. However, fantasy managers would be wise to stay away from the former first-rounder, at least until he produces some results.
