2 years agoNew York Mets third base prospect Mark Vientos hit his 12th home run of the 2023 Triple-A season in a game for Triple-A Syracuse. The 23-year-old is having a fantastic season, slashing .333/.420/.667 with 24 runs, 33 RBI, and a 12.1% walk rate in 36 games. The Florida native debuted at the major-league level last season, slashing .167/.268/.278 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs. Vientos should get the call-up soon to add some offensive firepower to a struggling Mets lineup that is 18th in OPS and 23rd in SLG. His poor defense limits the right-handed hitter to a platoon role with leftie DH Daniel Vogelbach, but he's still worth stashing in deeper leagues for his elite power.--Pranav Uppalapati - RotoBaller
