Giancarlo Stanton To Play Outfield When He Returns
2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) did some defensive work on Friday, and Boone plans on using Stanton in the outfield upon his return from the injured list. Stanton hasn't played since suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on April 15, and he's slowly making his way back to the Yankees' lineup. The 33-year-old is hoping to return in late May or early June, barring any setbacks. Fantasy managers must continue to be patient with the oft-injured slugger and continue to stash him in an injured-list spot. Stanton offers elite power when he's healthy, but he continues to miss valuable time. Before the injury, he was hitting .269 (14-for-52) with three doubles, four homers, 11 RBI and seven runs scored in 13 games.
