Lions GM Expects Sam LaPorta To Produce Early
2 years agoDetroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes said to "expect a pretty early impact" from rookie second-round tight end Sam LaPorta. The Iowa alumni caught 58 passes for 657 yards and one touchdown in his senior season and became the second tight end selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Holmes spoke about LaPorta's versatility in the slot and out wide, so he could be utilized all over the field early in his career, especially while Jameson Williams (suspension) is absent from the team. While rookie tight ends take time to develop, LaPorta is seemingly polished and ready to help fantasy teams right away. A mid-level TE2 season is in his range of outcomes, but he could even exceed those expectations in one of the league's best passing offenses from 2022.
