Welcome to our PrizePicks NBA DFS prop picks for Monday, May 8th, 2023. The 2022-2023 NBA season is rolling along, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of.
PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry, or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option.

Bam Adebayo UNDER 8.5 1h Points
I'll start off the day with Bam Adebayo's first-half points prop. Adebayo has been under this projection in four of his last five games, averaging 5.6 first-half points during that stretch.
The Miami Heat will take on the New York Knicks for game four of the series, currently leading 2-1. Adebayo has a tough defensive matchup against Mitchell Robinson, who is a great shot blocker. The Knicks have been collapsing the paint this series and have made it tough on Adebayo, keeping him under the 18-point mark throughout the series.
The odds favor Adebayo to go under 17.5 points with -130 odds, while some books list him at 16.5 with odds on the over, giving us a one-point margin. My prop model projects Bam for 16.19 points tonight, supporting this play as well, as half of that is only eight points and here the line is 8.5.
Austin Reaves OVER 3.5 Assists
Next, I'll be looking at Austin Reaves' assists prop. Reaves has been over this projection in two of his last five games, averaging 4.2 assists during that span.
Coming off a huge win at home, the Los Angeles Lakers look to secure another win at home tonight. Reaves is yet to go over this projection in this series, and that's mostly due to the blowouts we've seen. There is only a three-point spread tonight, so I expect things to stay competitive. Reaves logged eight assists against Golden State in the regular season, so with a full workload in the playoffs, he should be able to cover this at just 3.5.
The books have Reaves at -130 odds in favor of exceeding 3.5 assists, and my prop model is projecting Reaves for 4.6 assists giving us a nice 2.2% edge. I like Reaves tonight to bounce back to his regular self after a poor game-three performance.
Jarred Vanderbilt UNDER 6 Rebounds
I'll finish things off with Jarred Vanderbilt's rebounds prop. Vanderbilt has been under this projection in three of the last five games, averaging 4.4 rebounds during that span.
Vanderbilt has averaged 5.6 rebounds so far in this series against the Golden State Warriors, and his line has been set at 5.5 rebounds. Tonight, the books have bumped the line to six rebounds even though he is coming off a five rebounds performance. The last time Vanderbilt surpassed six rebounds was in game two against the Memphis Grizzlies, where he recorded seven; otherwise, he has not exceeded six rebounds in all eight playoff games this year.
The books have Vanderbilt's line at 5.5 rebounds with -125 odds on the over, but I just don't see him getting there, especially not over six. My prop model projects Vanderbilt to record 4.28 rebounds tonight, and I would consider this a solid push play at the minimum, with nice potential to go under.
Other Recommendations:
- Andrew Wiggins OVER 6 Rebounds
- Kevin Love UNDER 10.5 PA
- Julius Randle OVER 12.5 RA
Overall recommendation for this play: FLEX
