Pete Alonso Knocks In A Run In Defeat
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/designated hitter Pete Alonso went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Alonso drove in one of the Mets' two runs in the bottom of the first with an RBI groundout. New York didn't have much of an answer for Austin Gomber, as shocking as that sounds. Through his first 129 at-bats of the year, Alonso is slashing .240/.315/.519 to go along with 11 long balls and 29 RBI. While the batting average (career .260) and OBP ( career .347) are below what we've come to expect from the 28-year-old, the power has been there through the first month or so of the season.
