Welcome to our PrizePicks NBA DFS prop picks for Friday, May 5th, 2023. The 2022-2023 NBA season is rolling along, and our friends over at PrizePicks still have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of.
PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry, or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option.

Jamal Murray MORE 22.5 Points
With how well Nikola Jokic can push the issue in the paint, Murray was afforded an off-game without hurting the team too much.
With the Suns being forced into immediate defensive adjustments towards stopping Jokic and replacing Chris Paul’s defense, limiting either Jokic or Murray is looking like a near impossible task.
We saw what happened when backups were left guarding Murray earlier in the series and the likely recipient of Paul’s minutes will be a mix of Damion Lee, Cam Payne, Josh Okogie and if we’re lucky, Landry Shamet.
Malcolm Brogdon MORE 13.5 FG Attempted
Malcolm Brogdon was voted sixth man of the year for a reason and this type of production was expected. The Celtics are asking a lot from Brogdon off the bench and he will keep delivering time and time again.
He’s a proven player, seemingly happy in a bench role that led the team in usage last game and has been dominating Philadelphia’s backcourt this series. He’s taken at least 15 shots in both games so far and his trajectory is pointing upwards after hitting six three-pointers last game.
He is Boston’s go-to guy off the bench so regardless of what stage the game is at when he checks in, he’ll be hoisting up shots and running the offense like usual.
Jeff Green MORE 0.5 Blks+Stls
This has been surprisingly one of the better wagers that PrizePicks has been offering lately. Even though Jeff Green is only playing a handful of minutes each night, because Denver lacks a true enforcer at the rim it allows players like Green and Aaron Gordon a chance to be that player.
Jokic plays sound defense and forces opposing players into positions where other Nuggets can capitalize on good positioning and cut a possession short.
Without Chris Paul, the Suns are lacking a true playmaker and will be more careless with the ball. Green might not seem like a standout defender, but he has been a menace on defense this series and failing to put up at least one defensive stat has become increasingly rare for him.
Other Recommendations:
- Tyrese Maxey MORE 20.5 Points
- Nikola Jokic MORE 4.5 Points In First 6 Minutes
- Devin Booker MORE 8.0 Assists
- Jayson Tatum MORE 48.5 Fantasy Score
Overall recommendation for this play: FLEX
