Ross Chastain Sits Atop Driver Standings
2 years agoAfter his second-place finish on Monday, Ross Chastain moved to the top of the leaderboard. Although Chastain has yet to win this season, he has totaled 370 points and sits three points ahead of Christopher Bell in the driver standings. A race without a Chastain incident seems rare these days, and Monday showcased another one. During Lap 80, Chastain was looking to follow Brendan Poole around Austin Dillon, but he checked up too soon. This caused him to spin out Poole, a spin that captured the No. 5 car of Kyle Larson. Poole was out of the race, Larson was 41 laps down and Chastain led 98 laps and finished second. Someone got the better end of that deal.
