Luis Garcia Dealing With Right-Elbow Discomfort
2 years agoUpdating a previous report, Houston Astros starting pitcher Luis Garcia (elbow) left his start early on Monday against the San Francisco Giants with right-elbow discomfort. Garcia was only able to throw eight pitches in the outing before trainers came out onto the field to take a look at his arm. It remains to be seen how long the 26-year-old right-hander will be out, but we should know more once Garcia is re-evaluated on Tuesday. Coming into his start on Monday, Garcia had a 4.00 ERA (3.76 FIP), 1.26 WHIP, 10 walks and 31 strikeouts in 27 innings over his five starts. Check back later for more updates on his condition and whether there's a chance he'll need a stint on the injured list. Houston's starting rotation could be in trouble, as Jose Urquidy (shoulder) landed on the IL on Monday after leaving his start early on Sunday night.
