Astros Put Jose Urquidy On 15-Day Injured List Monday
2 years agoThe Houston Astros placed right-hander Jose Urquidy (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with right-shoulder discomfort and recalled right-hander Brandon Bielak from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Urquidy lands on the injured list after departing his start against the Philadelphia Phillies early on Sunday night after 5 1/3 innings of work. The Astros won't need a fifth starter until May 9, so the 28-year-old's injury actually comes at a decent time for the team. After giving up two runs in Sunday's outing, Urquidy owns a 5.20 ERA (5.73 FIP), 1.55 WHIP, 10 walks and 23 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings over his first six starts of the 2023 season. Fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues shouldn't feel obligated to hold onto him.
