An impressive five-fight winning streak for Ricky Simon came to an end at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday after he suffered a fifth-round TKO loss to Song Yadong. Yadong was certainly the better fighter on Saturday night. However, his performance was not without controversy. Yadong pressed forward in Round 2 and dropped Simon after a clash of heads. Yadong was warned later by referee Herb Dean after initiating another headbutt. Yadong kept stopping every single takedown attempt throughout the fight and making Simon pay on his feet, hurting him badly in the final seconds of the fourth round. The Chinese fighter would land another two knockdowns in the fifth round, followed by a flurry of punches before the referee stopped the fight. In 21:10 of action, Simon landed 60 significant strikes. The loss moves Simon to 8-3 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
