Paul Sewald Picks Up Another Win
2 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald picked up his second win of the season in the team's 10-8 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in 10 innings on Sunday. Sewald came on in the bottom of the ninth inning with the game tied and allowed one hit, no runs and a walk in his inning of work to send the game into extra innings. Matt Brash entered in the bottom of the 10th inning in Toronto to secure his first save of the season. After Sunday's outing, Sewald has a 3.00 ERA (3.39 FIP), 0.87 WHIP, seven saves, four walks and 19 strikeouts in 15 innings over 15 relief appearances. The 32-year-old right-handed veteran has picked up where he left off in 2022 and holds plenty of fantasy value as Seattle's primary closer right now.
