Charlie Jones Could Have Big Role Early On
2 years agoCincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones, who was taken in the fourth round at No. 131 overall on Saturday, could have an immediate impact on special teams in the return game. Jones was the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Year in 2021 for Iowa and has two return touchdowns in his career. He could also be thrust into a prominent receiving role out of the slot if any of Cincy's big three receivers goes down with an injury in 2023. The 24-year-old wideout has the potential to be the team's slot receiver of the future once Tyler Boyd's contract expires following this season. Jones brings positional versatility with deep speed (4.43-second 40) and impressive contested-catch ability.
