Carter Verhaeghe Sends Panthers Into The Second Round
2 years agoFlorida Panthers left wing Carter Verhaeghe produced the game-winner as the team shocked Boston with a 4-3 overtime victory in Sunday's Game 7. Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett set up Verhaeghe with 8:35 played in overtime. The 27-year-old became the first player in Panthers history with multiple series-clinching goals. Verhaeghe also had an assist Sunday, helping Brandon Montour to tie the game with just a minute left in regulation. The prolific winger notched eight points in total during the first-round series and will enter Game 1 against Toronto on Tuesday with a four-game point streak.
