Dodgers Call Up Gavin Stone
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers called up No. 4 prospect Gavin Stone from the minors, according to a source. The plan is for Stone to start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday in what will be his major-league debut. The 24-year-old right-hander impressed everyone in spring training and has pitched much better in his last two starts in the minors for Triple-A Oklahoma City after a slow start. He has given up just one run in his last two starts despite owning a 4.74 ERA in his 24 2/3 frames. We wouldn't recommend rolling Stone out there in fantasy lineups in his first start in a tough matchup against the Phillies, but he certainly has plenty of long-term upside and is worth a pickup off the waiver wire. Stone projects as a mid-rotation starter for LA.
