2 years agoChicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Christopher Morel continued his dominant ways on Thursday with a 4-for-6 performance that included four runs, two homers and two RBI. Morel spent most of his time in the big leagues last year and was a surprise cut by the Cubs at the end of spring training. Morel has taken that personally and hit .345 with 10 homers and 21 RBI. During his time in the show in 2022, he hit 16 home runs with 47 RBI and 10 stolen bases. The Cubs offense has been overachieving in the early stages of the season, but it's hard to argue to that Morel wouldn't make a difference over players such as Eric Hosmer and Nick Madrigal. With eligibility across the board (2B, SS, 3B, OF) in most platforms and depending on playing time, Morel can be an impactful pickup in deeper leagues when he eventually gets his next chance.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
