MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Marcus Stroman OVER 5.5 strikeouts (+126 FanDuel Sportsbook)
Stroman has opened the season missing bats at a career-best clip, as he boasts a career-high 9.3 K/9 and 26.1 percent strikeout rate over the 29 innings covering his first five starts. Even while enduring his roughest outing of the season yet last time out against the Dodgers, the veteran righty still rang up a strikeout an inning over five frames. Stroman is clocking whiff rates of 21.4 and 34.8 percent on his sinker and slurve, respectively, which qualify as his two most-often-thrown pitches. The opposing Marlins make for good targets for this prop as well, as Miami sports an MLB-high 28.5 percent strikeout rate against right-handed pitching at home over a 358 plate-appearance sample.
Shane Bieber UNDER 18.5 outs recorded (-161 Caesars Sportsbook)
Bieber has a solid 3.23 ERA through his first five starts, but he's missing much fewer bats than usual (17.6 percent strikeout rate) and has gone six innings or less in four of his five turns. Friday, he has a particularly tough assignment against the Red Sox at Fenway, where Boston owns a .266 average and .341 wOBA, including a .332 wOBA against righties. The Sox have also worked walks at a solid 8.8 percent rate there, upping their ability to tire out pitchers. Given the matchup and the favorable hitting environment, it's more likely than not than Bieber exits before making it to 6.2 innings or more, especially with Boston sporting the fifth-highest wOBA (.343) of any team on its home field in the last two weeks.
1000 K’s for Marcus Stroman!
Truly a one of a kind moment 🥲

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Austin Riley OVER 1.5 total bases (+130 DraftKings SportsBook)
Riley is once again feasting on left-handed pitching early this season, producing a .300 average, 1.038 OPS and four extra-base hits (out of nine total) across 37 plate appearances thus far in that split. Looking to the larger sample of his 2022 season, Riley laced 27 of his 49 hits against southpaws for extra bases on his way to a .329 average and 1.084 OPS. Friday, he gets a crack at the struggling David Peterson, whom he's tormented for a .500 average with three doubles in 17 career encounters. Meanwhile, Peterson has been taken to task by righty bats to the tune of a .312 average and seven extra-base hits, including three homers.
Kris Bryant To Hit a HR (+540 BetRivers SportsBook)
We'll use Bryant for what is always a fun prop to sweat, as the conditions could well be right for him to leave the yard. The red-hot slugger will be back in the friendly confines of Coors Field after authoring three straight two-hit efforts on the road against the Guardians, and he faces Merrill Kelly, who's likely due for some long-ball regression after giving up just two homers in his first 26.1 innings. In comparison, Kelley has allowed well over a homer per nine innings over his previous four seasons, and he's not an elite swing-and-miss hurler by any stretch. Then, Bryant already owns a .324 average at home this season and has belted 120 of his 175 career homers off right-handed pitching, not to mention he owns a .421 average against Kelly in 22 career plate appearances while hitting the ball hard consistently (three doubles, one triple among eight hits).
Andrew McCutchen OVER 0.5 Singles (-120 Caesars Sportsbook)
McCutchen's productive Pittsburgh homecoming has been one of the feel-good stories of the very surprising Pirates' first month. The veteran outfielder owns a solid .272 average and .877 OPS after a pair of sub-par seasons at the plate in Philadelphia and Milwaukee, and he's hit safely in four straight coming into Friday. McCutchen has actually been at his best on the road, where he's posted a .286 average over 53 plate appearances. Friday, McCutchen faces the struggling Chad Kuhl, who's been knocked around by righty bats for a .375 average and massive .531 wOBA over a 38-batter sample. Given his minuscule 15.5 percent strikeout rate thus far, McCutchen is a good option to eclipse this prop against a pitcher that's given up no shortage of contact early (20 hits over 18.1 innings).
