Phillies Think Taijuan Walker Will Make His Next Start
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (forearm) played catch and saw a doctor on Thursday, and it was determined that an MRI exam wasn't necessary after Walker left his outing early on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners with right forearm tightness. The Phillies think he'll make his next start on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. It looks as though the Phils and Walker dodged a bullet, but the 30-year-old right-hander will still be pretty risky against the underperforming Dodgers on the road following an early injury-related exit in his last start. Walker hasn't been all that great so far in his first five starts for Philadelphia, posting a 4.97 ERA (5.23 FIP), 1.38 WHIP, 14 walks and 23 K's in 25 1/3 innings pitched.
