We have another five-game main slate today, which makes it a little on the smaller side. This slate is split about right down the middle, but we still have some attractive pitching options available. That's all we can really ask for on a slate with only ten pitchers available.
This article contains my picks for the five-game main slate on Thursday, April 27, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel which locks at 6:40 PM ET.
The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Shane McClanahan, TB at CWS ($10,000 DK, $11,300 FD)
We have two aces to choose from today, which is never an easy choice. You will have a hard time cramming both into a DK lineup, but that won't stop me from trying. Cole has been absolutely dominant this year (4-0, 0.79 ERA), but he "only" has 36 strikeouts in 34 innings. Yes, we're spoiled...especially when he is $1,200 more than McClanahan on DK.
Peep that K% of the White Sox against McClanahan. McClanahan also has 37 strikeouts in 29 innings. You know how DFS works by now. Strikeouts are king. You may want Cole in cash games, but McClanahan has the potential for a huge number tonight at a significantly lower price on DK (it's only $300 on FD).
Joey Lucchesi, NYM vs. WAS ($6,400 DK, $8,300 FD)
Lucchesi was nothing short of great in his first major league start since 2021 against the Giants last week – a team that normally clobbers lefties. He not only pitched seven innings, which is damn impressive in his first start off Tommy John surgery, but he racked up nine strikeouts and didn't allow a run. I'm definitely not scared of the Nationals here.
Others to consider: Gerrit Cole at TEX; Tyler Mahle vs. KC

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jorge Mateo - SS, BAL vs. BOS ($4,400 DK, $3,900 FD)
Mateo has at least one hit in every start since April 13. It has been quite an opening month for him as well. The Orioles have been a nice surprise this season and Mateo is a huge reason why. He is hitting .351 with four homers and 13 RBIs to go along with his seven steals. He got a day off yesterday and his price dropped $300 on DK. Sounds good to me!
Marcus Semien - 2B, TEX vs. NYY ($6,000 DK, $4,100 FD)
That price is really tough to swallow on DK, especially facing a guy like Gerrit Cole. Believe it or not, that's the good news for Semien. Semien is 8-for-35 lifetime against Cole, but three of those hits are homers and he has walked four times. That helps make up for the subpar average a bit. I will take that plunge in a large-field GPP on DK, but that's about it.
DJ LeMahieu - 3B, NYY at TEX ($3,700 DK, $3,000 FD)
FD gives us a break with DJ being eligible at every infield position. He is only 3B on DK. I'll take it with that kind of discount though. LeMahieu is 6-for-12 lifetime against Andrew Heaney with a homer. Of course, the other five hits are singles, but that's what you get with DJ. We're here for the bulk hits, not extra bases.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Cedric Mullins - OF, BAL at DET ($5,600 DK, $3,600 FD)
Aaron Judge only has one career hit off of Heaney (it is a homer, though), so I'll spend my money on Mullins. You know, the guy that drove in five runs in the three-game set against Boston. The guy who has 20 RBI in 26 games. The guy who is pounding lefties again this year. Mullins is hitting .321 against lefties in 2023 compared to .246 against righties.
Joey Gallo - 1B/OF, MIN vs. KC ($4,200 DK, $3,400 FD)
Gallo is on a bit of a heater. He even homered against yesterday – his fourth in eight games – and his price went down on DK. Thanks a lot, guys! I'll ride Gallo's heater against Zack Greinke, who has been awful on the road for the last three years or so.
Anthony Santander - OF, BAL at DET ($3,800 DK, $2,700 FD)
Santander is struggling this season, but he is still batting cleanup and he is still much better against lefties in his career. Santander is showing some signs of life recently with three RBI in his last four games. I'll buy the uptick in better contact against noodle-armed lefty Joey Wentz and his 7.56 ERA.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Baltimore Orioles vs. Joey Wentz
As I mentioned before, Wentz is 0-3 with a 7.56 ERA. The Orioles are hitting .261 with ten of their 28 homers in the season against southpaws in significantly fewer at-bats. It's too bad that Austin Hays is hurt and likely out of the lineup again, but we still have Mountcastle and Mateo hitting well. Not to mention Adley Rutschman and righty-mashers Cedric Mullins and Anthony Santander. The best part is that this is an affordable stack.
Also consider: Minnesota Twins vs. Zack Greinke
