X-Rays Negative On George Springer's Hand
2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays announced that X-rays on outfielder George Springer's right hand came back negative on Wednesday after he was removed from the game against the Chicago White Sox when he was hit by a pitch in his hand in the top of the third inning. The 33-year-old, the Blue Jays and Springer's fantasy managers dodged a bullet here, and he should be considered day-to-day heading into Friday's action. Before leaving the contest, Springer went 0-for-1 with a run scored, and he's now hitting just .216 on the season. Entering Wednesday's game, Springer was hitting .219 (21-for-96) with a double, three home runs, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 24 games. Hopefully, he'll get going at the plate more consistently soon.
