Riley Greene Sitting Tuesday Versus Brewers
2 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene is starting Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers on the bench. It's a good time to give the heavily-used Greene a breather against Brewers left-hander Eric Lauer while his sophomore season has been a struggle of late. The 22-year-old is hitting just .224 alongside two homers, two stolen bases, and a .624 OPS across 92 trips to the plate. Greene has started the first 21 games of the season for the Tigers, hitting either second or third in the batting order but he's collected just one hit over his last three games with six strikeouts in 14 trips to the plate in that time. Matt Vierling will take over for Greene in center field and hit leadoff in game two against the Brewers.
