Will The Bears Take Bijan Robinson If Available At The No. 9 Pick? 2023 NFL Draft Outlook

The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three days away. While everyone hopes there is a blockbuster draft night trade, the Chicago Bears already made a massive deal this offseason.

Last month the Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. In return, Chicago received the ninth and 61st overall picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, a 2024 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, and star wide receiver DJ Moore.

While the team is now picking ninth overall, the Bears can still land an impact player with that selection. One potential target is Texas running back Bijan Robinson.

Will The Bears Take Bijan Robinson If Available At The No. 9 Pick?

Chicago lost David Montgomery in free agency. While they signed D’Onta Foreman, Khalil Herbert will be the new starter in 2023. However, the Bears could draft Robinson with their first-round pick. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said he was told, “Don’t sleep on Robinson with Chicago at number nine.”

The Bears had a limited offense last year. Justin Fields led the team with 1,143 rushing yards in 15 games. However, adding Moore was a great start to improving their offense. Yet, drafting Robinson could turn Chicago’s offense from one of the worst in the NFL last year to one of the best in 2023.

What Other Teams Could Draft Bijan Robinson?

While the Bears are interested in the former Longhorn superstar, Robinson might not be on the board when the team is on the clock. Reportedly the Atlanta Falcons are big fans of the Texas running back. The Falcons had a solid 1-2 punch at running back last year in Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier. They combined for 354 rushing attempts for 1,730 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.

Unfortunately for Chicago, Atlanta has the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Furthermore, Robinson is the favorite to go eighth overall on draft night at +250.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been other popular landing spots for Robinson in mock drafts over the past few weeks. While all three teams pick after the Bears at ninth overall, they could trade up to secure the superstar running back prospect.
