2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder prospect Sal Frelick (thumb) was placed on the 7-day injured list Friday at Triple-A Nashville. He sustained a left thumb sprain in last Tuesday's game in Nashville. According to Brewers manager Craig Counsell, Frelick is not expected to be out long. He is slashing .232/.317/.321 with three RBI and four stolen bases over 15 games for Triple-A Nashville in 2023. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) could be facing season-ending surgery on his left shoulder. Joey Wiemer will serve as Milwaukee's center fielder moving forward, but Frelick, once he recovers from his thumb issue, could receive a big league promotion at some point during the season.
