Hunter Greene To Start Sunday
Hunter Greene (leg) is listed as the team's probable starter on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Vince Velasquez. Greene suffered a right tibia contusion in his last start on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays after he was hit in the leg by a comebacker, but the injury isn't serious and he'll close out the four-game series against Pittsburgh. The hard-throwing 23-year-old right-hander also just signed a six-year, $53 million contract extension, so he's locked into the Reds' starting rotation for the long term. Despite getting injured in his last start, Greene is an attractive starting option this weekend against the Bucs. He has a 4.24 ERA (2.50 FIP), 1.53 WHIP, six walks and 24 K's in 17 innings over his first four starts this year.
