Sal Frelick Dealing With Thumb Injury
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Sal Frelick (thumb) missed Wednesday's game against Jacksonville due to a jammed left thumb. The 23-year-old's thumb injury isn't considered severe, and he is considered day-to-day. Frelick is slashing .232/.317/.321 with three RBI and four stolen bases over 15 games for Triple-A Nashville in 2023. The thumb issue is lousy timing for Frelick, as he was in line for a promotion to the big leagues with the Brewers placing Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Frelick has a ton of upside, evidenced by his .331/.404/.480 slash line with 11 homers and 24 steals in three levels of the minors in 2022. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Frelick for now, as he could be heading to the majors once he fully recovers from his thumb issue.
