Veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson was a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft. The former Penn State star had an impressive run in Jacksonville.
Robinson had 201 receptions on 383 targets for 2,837 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns over his first three years with the Jaguars. Unfortunately, the star receiver suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 of the 2017 season. He then signed a three-year deal with the Chicago Bears. After a quiet first season, Robinson had impressive back-to-back years.
However, the Bears placed the franchise tag on Robinson in 2021. The veteran receiver had an awful year, totaling 38 receptions on 66 targets for 410 receiving yards and one touchdown in 12 games. He then signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams last offseason.

What Did Allen Robinson Accomplish In 2022?
Some had high hopes for the veteran wide receiver last year. Unfortunately, Robinson had a disappointing 2022 season in Los Angeles. He had only 33 receptions on 52 targets for 339 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
The Rams signed Robinson after he almost joined the Philadelphia Eagles. Los Angeles then traded Robert Woods to the Tennessee Titans and never re-signed Odell Beckham Jr.
After his disappointing season, the Rams placed Robinson on the trade block this offseason. Both sides agreed that a fresh start was needed.
Is Allen Robinson A Good Fit For The Steelers?
Yesterday the Rams traded the veteran wide receiver to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The teams will swap seventh-round draft picks. Meanwhile, Los Angeles will pay most of Robinson’s salary this season as part of the deal.
The trade makes sense for the Steelers on the field. Diontae Johnson and George Pickens are the two starters. However, the team’s depth at wide receiver is thin and inexperienced. Calvin Austin III didn’t play last year as a rookie. Meanwhile, Gunner Olszewski has 14 career receptions.
However, fantasy players shouldn’t expect much from Robinson in Pittsburgh. Johnson and Pickens take up most of the targets at the wide receiver position. More importantly, the former Penn State star hasn’t been fantasy relevant in three years. Furthermore, the addition of Robinson won’t keep the Steelers from adding a wide receiver during the 2023 NFL Draft.
