2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (elbow) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 16. The right-hander is dealing with right elbow inflammation, which could possibly explain his struggles to begin the season Carrasco holds a 8.56 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP through 13 2/3 innings this season. In a corresponding move, right-hander Jeff Brigham has been recalled to take Carrasco's spot on the active roster. However, Brigham is expected to be an extra arm out of the bullpen until the Mets decide what to do with Carrasco's spot in the rotation. The expectation is that Jose Butto will likely move into the starting rotation.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
