Carlos Estevez Earns His Second Save Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels right-hander Carlos Estevez picked up his second save of the season on Monday when he pitched the ninth inning of the 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Estevez allowed one run on two hits and a walk but struck out two. The 30-year-old is running a 2.57 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with nine strikeouts and five walks over seven innings. Estevez is tied for the club lead in saves with Jose Quijada and will likely be the top option for manager Phil Nevin this season if he can replicate the 3.47 ERA he posted in 2022.
